Privacy notice

Launch500 is run by 99 Developers Ltd (company number 17257492, 55 Queen’s Gate, London SW7 5JW), the controller of the personal data described here. Questions, and any request under the rights below: privacy@launch500.com.

What we collect, and why

  • Your email address, to send the six-digit sign-in code and to identify your login. Lawful basis: contract (you asked for an account).
  • Your account: handle, display or company name, and a Garage’s company website. Contract.
  • What you do here: listings, claims (including the domain you proved), recommendations, reports, and reviews once they open. Contract, and our legitimate interest in running an honest directory.
  • Security records: a one-way hash of your email and of your IP address (never the address itself) to enforce sign-in limits, and a log of account and moderation actions. Legitimate interest in keeping accounts and the directory safe.
  • Payments: Stripe takes the card details on its own page; we receive only that a payment completed, its amount and its reference. Contract, and our legal duty to keep accounting records.

Reviews are published without the author’s name or handle. Companies never learn who wrote a review; only our staff can see that, and only to moderate.

Who processes it for us

  • Supabase (database and sign-in), hosted in London.
  • Cloudflare (hosting, security, and the Turnstile check that you are a person).
  • Resend (sending the sign-in emails).
  • Stripe (payments, for paid offers).

Each processes data only on our instructions. Where a provider handles data outside the UK, it is under the UK’s adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum. We sell nobody’s data, and we run no advertising trackers; the site’s visit counts are cookie-free, and “Do not measure my visits” in the footer switches them off for your browser.

Cookies

Two cookies, both strictly necessary, set only when you sign in: they hold your session so you stay signed in, and they are sent only to this site, over HTTPS. No consent banner is needed for them, and there are no others.

How long we keep it

  • Your login and account: until you delete them.
  • A live listing: for as long as the product is listed, even after its Garage closes.
  • Unproved listings: 72 hours. Rejected listings: two years.
  • Published reviews: kept, detached from you, if you delete your account.
  • Recommendations: two years. Resolved reports: one year.
  • Sign-in limit counters: 30 days. The action log: six years.
  • Payment records: six years, as the law on accounting records requires.

Your rights

You can download a copy of everything we hold about you, correct your details, and delete your account, all from your account page, at once and without asking anyone. You also have the right to object, to restrict processing and to data portability; write to the address above and we answer within one month. Deleting your account removes it from our database immediately; our providers’ own technical logs age out on their schedules.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113). We would rather hear from you first.

Age

Accounts are for people aged 16 and over.
