Preview. Launch500 opens to the public soon; payments here are in test mode and no money moves.

Run by 99 Developers Ltd. Listings and Crash Tests pay for it. Money never buys a score or a place on the list. What money cannot buy

People

No tester has been named yet.

Crash tests start when one is. Every report will name who ran it, on which version and for how many hours. Our testers will hold no equity in any vendor we cover and will not accept a vendor's hospitality, hardware or consulting work. The code that computes scores cannot read billing or vendor records, and a build check enforces it.

Conflicts of interest

The rules everyone here works under

Written down so you can hold us to them, and so a future version of us cannot quietly relax one.
  1. 01

No tester may hold equity, options or any financial interest in a vendor we cover, or in a competitor of one.

  2. 02

No tester may accept hospitality, hardware, travel, consulting work or a paid speaking slot from a vendor we cover.

  3. 03

We buy our own accounts at list price. The invoices are part of the test record and are produced on request during a dispute.

  4. 04

No vendor receives advance notice of a result, a draft of a report, or a right of reply before publication. They get the same page everyone else gets, at the same moment.

  5. 05

Commercial staff have no write access to test reports, scores or reviews, and the scoring service has no credentials for the billing system.

  6. 06

Anyone joining from a vendor in this vertical is recused from testing that vendor for 24 months, and the recusal is noted on the reports they would otherwise have run.

Why the testers are named

An unsigned review is an opinion nobody has to stand behind. Putting a name, a date and an hour count on every report means a vendor knows exactly who to argue with, and so do you. It also means our testers carry their record with them, which is a stronger incentive than any policy we could write.
