Preview. Launch500 opens to the public soon; payments here are in test mode and no money moves.

Run by 99 Developers Ltd. Listings and Crash Tests pay for it. Money never buys a score or a place on the list. What money cannot buy

For makers

Get listed. Or get on the list.

One payment, no subscription, no renewal. A listing puts your product on Launch500. A place on the Launch500 list cannot be bought: a passed Crash Test gets a product considered, and the February editorial decides.

On the platform

A listing: free, or £49 to be featured

A product page buyers can find, recommend and click through from. Live the moment you prove your domain. The £49 Listing adds a fortnight in the Featured spots, labelled Sponsored.

On the list

Launch500 2026: earned, never bought

A passed Crash Test is the entry barrier. Pass, and you are considered for the editorial published in February 2027, which weighs the test with reviews, customer feedback and our engineers’ view of how useful the product is. Passing is not a place.

Backlink

A nofollow link: readers can click through, and search engines pass no credit.

  • A product page: name, category, one line and a link, checked automatically
  • Claimed by your Garage from the start, because you proved the domain
  • Crew members can recommend it, counted in public
  • A nofollow link to your site

Arrives later, at no extra cost

  • Reviews from Crew members, and your public reply to each, when reviews open

Does not buy

  • A place on the Launch500 list. A listing puts you on the platform, never on the list.
  • Featured placement on the homepage or in your category
  • A Crash Test, a score or a verdict
  • Never a followed link, free or paid

  • A Listing badge on your product page
  • A link to your site, marked sponsored as search engines require of paid links
  • Everything in the free listing

Does not buy

  • A place on the Launch500 list, or a step towards one. Only a passed Crash Test gets a product considered.
  • A Crash Test, a score or a verdict
  • A review, a rating, or any influence on one

Crash Test

The entry barrier to the Launch500 list. A named tester puts you on the bench, and we publish what happens.

£1,450once

By enquiry: we agree a test date with you before you pay

Backlink

Links from your report and hub entry to your site are marked rel="sponsored", because you paid for the test.

  • The full scenario set for your category, run by a named tester on a dated version
  • A published report with weighted sub-scores, every failure numbered, and the evidence
  • Pass, and you are considered for the Launch500 list published each February
  • A verdict badge you may embed, whichever verdict you get
  • Your data in the comparison table, capability matrix and category hub
  • A free re-test whenever you tell us what you changed
  • Everything in the free listing

Does not buy

  • A place on the Launch500 list. Passing makes you eligible; the February editorial decides.
  • The result. You are buying the engineer's time, not the verdict.
  • Advance sight of the report, or a right of reply before publication
  • Removal of a failure, a low score, or the report itself
  • A refund if you do not like the outcome

Before you book a Crash Test

You are buying the test. You are not buying the result.

This is how audit and certification bodies have always worked, and it is the only version of a paid review that is worth anything to the buyer reading it. If paying could move the number, the number would stop meaning anything, and then nobody would want the badge you just bought.

  • The report publishes whatever it says, including “Did not pass”.
  • A pass makes you eligible for the Launch500 list. It does not guarantee a place.
  • The fee is non-refundable regardless of the verdict.
  • The rubric and weights are published before you pay and do not change because you paid.
  • Every commissioned test is labelled vendor-commissioned, permanently.
  • No advance sight of the report and no right of reply before it goes live.
