Contributor terms

These terms apply to the reviews and the contributed articles you write for us. Our terms of use apply as well.

Reviews

Who may review

A review is written from a Crew account, by someone who has used the product. One review per person per product. You may not review a product you have a conflict over: one you work for, own a share in, supply or act for as an agency, or whose maker is a member of your family. Nobody may offer you anything for a review, and we offer nothing for one.

How a review is published

Each review goes through automatic checks and is published 48 hours after you submit it, and never before your account is 72 hours old. Reviews are shown without the author’s name or handle. Companies never learn who wrote a review; only our staff can see that.

Your licence to us

You keep the copyright in your review. You give 99 Developers Ltd a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide licence to publish it on Launch500, to include it in the markdown versions of our pages and in llms.txt, and to keep it published, detached from you, if you delete your account.

What you promise

  • The review is your own honest experience of the product.
  • It is not defamatory, does not infringe anyone’s rights, and holds nobody’s personal data.
  • You have declared every conflict of interest.

Our editorial control

We may hold, reject or remove a review that breaks these terms. The review policy, published before reviews open, sets out the reasons and the appeal route. A review is never rejected for its rating or for being negative.

Contributed articles

What the fee buys

Article, £89 once. Submit free. Our editors accept or reject each piece; a rejection comes with the reason, and you can revise and resubmit. Once accepted, you pay £89 and it is published with your author link.

  • Submitting is free. Our editors accept or reject each piece; a rejection comes with the reason, and you can revise and resubmit. You pay only once your piece is accepted, and the fee pays for publishing it.
  • Rejected pieces cost nothing: you pay only once our editors accept a piece, and the payment publishes it. If a paid piece is not published, the payment is refunded in full.
  • Every contributed post is labelled as such, at the top, with your company named.
  • Once your piece is accepted and paid for, it is published at once; the text published is the text you last sent.
  • Nothing you publish here affects how we test or score your product.

Your licence to us

You keep the copyright in your article. You give 99 Developers Ltd a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide licence to publish it as you last sent it, and to include it in the markdown versions of our pages and in llms.txt.

What you promise

  • The article is your original work and infringes nobody’s rights.
  • Nothing in it is defamatory or unlawful.
  • You have disclosed every conflict of interest.

Labelling and links

Every published piece is labelled “Contributed”, with your company named at the top. Links in the body text to your own product are removed. You get one link in your author bio, marked rel=“sponsored”.

Our editorial control

We may decline, edit, correct or unpublish a piece. Corrections follow our corrections log.

Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

Version history

  • 2026-10-01: 6 Oct 2026: contributed articles open, submitted on the site, so the page no longer says they are not open; with reviews open since 5 Oct, it says these terms apply to both.
  • 2026-10-01: 4 Oct 2026: our editors accept or reject each Article, with no request for changes; a rejection comes with the reason, and the author can revise and resubmit. Once accepted, the author pays £89 and the piece is published as soon as the payment is recorded, with no separate publishing step.
  • 2026-10-01: 3 Oct 2026: an Article is submitted free and paid for only once our editors accept it; a declined piece costs nothing, and one declined after payment is refunded in full. A revision happens only when we ask for changes; the text published is the text the author last sent, so the licence no longer covers editing for house style and length.
  • 2026-10-01: First draft, for the solicitor.
