Version 2026-10-01. Draft: not yet reviewed by our solicitor.
Refund policy
A Premium listing is not refundable once it is live; a payment we cannot match to a listing, or whose page cannot be published, is refunded in full.
Premium listing (£49)
A Premium listing is paid for before it goes live. It goes live once your domain is proved, your page is complete and a person at the Editorial Desk has approved it, and it is not refundable once it is live, except where the law gives you a right to cancel. A listing that was already live when you paid is Premium at once, and the same applies from that moment.
If the Editorial Desk refuses your Premium page and it cannot be published, we refund you in full. The same applies if your domain is still unproved 30 days after payment, or if we cannot match your payment to a listing (for example, it was withdrawn or hidden before the payment arrived): the upgrade cannot apply, and we refund you in full.
A refund goes back to the card you paid with.
Crash Test (£1,450)
The Crash Test is sold by enquiry, and its fee is non-refundable whatever the verdict. Any other refund of a Crash Test: [[HUMAN: when a Crash Test fee is refunded other than on the verdict, decided by Abdalla on the solicitor's advice (S18)]]. Its full terms are in the vendor terms.
Article (£89)
Rejected pieces cost nothing: you pay only once our editors accept a piece, and the payment publishes it. If a paid piece is not published, the payment is refunded in full.

Version history
- 2026-10-01: 6 Oct 2026: a Premium listing is paid for before it goes live (D33), so it is not refundable once live rather than once featured; one the Editorial Desk refuses and that cannot be published, one whose domain is still unproved 30 days after payment, and a payment we cannot match to a listing are refunded in full. The summary sentence changes with it, so Stripe's checkout settings must repeat the new one.
- 2026-10-01: 6 Oct 2026: contributed articles are on sale, so the Article's rule applies from today: a rejected piece costs nothing, and a paid piece that is not published is refunded in full.
- 2026-10-01: 6 Oct 2026: the £49 paid listing is renamed the Premium listing. What it includes and costs did not change.
- 2026-10-01: 4 Oct 2026: our editors accept or reject an Article before any payment, so a rejected piece costs nothing; an accepted piece is published as soon as it is paid, and a paid piece that is not published is refunded in full.
- 2026-10-01: 3 Oct 2026: an Article is paid for only once accepted, so a declined piece costs nothing; a piece declined after payment is refunded in full.
- 2026-10-01: First draft, for the solicitor.
